Across the country, our members are the beating heart of the Labour party. Our membership has grown hugely in recent years; we’re excited to welcome new members and hugely thankful for the contribution of long standing members.

In North East Cambs Labour there is a place for every member. Once you join as either a Member or Affiliated Supporter you’ll be eligible to attend our CLP meetings, as well as your branch meetings. These meetings are where we discuss and debate ideas and come up with new strategies and priorities for the party locally, as well as passing on ideas to the party nationally. New members are always very welcome at meetings – branch meetings are usually a little smaller and may be closer to you geographically, so they are a great place to start!

We also have regular social events, which are a wonderful way to get to know people, especially if you’re feeling a little shy about coming to meetings! These are usually open to all, so you are welcome to bring along family and friends too. Socials that we’ve had in the past include meals, quizzes, BBQs and movie showings – let us know if you have an idea you’d like to try out!

And, most important of all, we have lots of campaigning events. These include delivering leaflets, knocking on doors, and meeting in a town centre to chat to members of the public or get signatures for a petition. There are lots of different tasks to do to suit members with different levels of confidence, and if it’s your first time there will always be a friendly face to show you the ropes! We also help out or work with other campaigns for local services, as well as promoting the Labour party – if you have a cause you think we should be campaigning on, please bring it to your next branch or CLP meeting, or you can get in touch via this form.

Lastly, you can also interact with other members via social media. For Members and Affiliated Supporters, we have a Facebook Group, North East Cambs Labour Members. This is the place to go to to chat to other members, share things of interest, debate new ideas and organise events.

You can also like our Facebook Page, which is where we promote our party and engage in discussion with members of the public – we’re also on Instagram and Twitter

Your likes, comments and support are very much appreciated!

We appreciate any way you’re able to get involved, and would love to see you at our next event! Check out the Events page to see what’s happening soon, and look out for emails from our secretary.
